Due to the passage of SB 94 by the Ohio Legislature, recording fees for most documents will increase by $5.00 starting
April 1, 2025. This surcharge supports the preservation and digitization of documents, as well as ongoing costs incurred by the county recorder's office.

Effective July 1, 2001, all UCC's on chattel property will be filed with the Secretary of State of Ohio. The County Recorder will only accept terminations on previously filed UCC's
The new form for filing UCC's is available on the Secretary of State's web page at: www.state.oh.us/sos or www.ohio.gov/sos
Any questions you might have on chattel property UCC's are referred to the Secretary of State at 614-466-2655.
