Major Tony Villanueva
Major Tony Villanueva graduated from Poland High School and attended the MTC Police Academy in Niles, Ohio. Graduating with Perfect Attendance, Major Villanueva has utilized his skills and knowledge ever since.
Major Villanueva began his Law Enforcement career in 2005 and worked as a patrol officer for the McDonald Village Police Department. In 2008, Major Villanueva was hired as a patrolman at Howland Township Police Department. In 2010, Major Villanueva was promoted to Narcotics Detective for the Howland Police Department and was assigned full-time to the TAG Drug Task Force. In 2013, Major Villanueva obtained his Master Criminal Investigators certification through OPOTA. In 2014, Major Villanueva was assigned to the Criminal Detective Division for Howland Township and also served on the Trumbull County Internet Crimes against Children Task Force and the Trumbull County Homicide Task Force. Major Villanueva has been recognized for halting human trafficking rings, deterring narcotic traffickers, and solving high-profile cases.
In 2017, Major Villanueva joined the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office as Major and Commander of the TAG Drug task Force. In January 2022, Major Villanueva was promoted to the rank of Major of Operations of the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office.
